Past funding rates for every exchange this site tracks: when each exchange's stored history starts, how many perps it lists and its OI-weighted funding right now, plus BTC funding history on every exchange in one chart. Every rate is the 8-hour equivalent, so exchanges that settle hourly and every 8 hours compare directly. Pick an exchange for its BTC and ETH history and its top perps' 7- and 30-day averages.

How it's counted. Binance and Hyperliquid history before this site began recording is the exchanges' own settled funding for their largest perps; after that, and for every other exchange, it is the funding rate recorded every 5 minutes, averaged per hour. Every rate is shown as its 8-hour equivalent (rate × 8 ÷ settlement interval). Download any series from the developer API.

Where does the funding rate history come from?

From the exchanges' own public APIs. For Binance and Hyperliquid the older years are the exchanges' settled funding payments, fetched from their funding-history endpoints for their largest perps. Everything else is the funding rate this site records from each exchange's public market data every 5 minutes, kept as hourly averages. Nothing comes from paid data vendors.

How far back does the funding history go?

Per exchange, from the data stored right now: Binance: from Sep 10, 2019 for its largest perps (settled payments), the rest since Sep 27, 2026; Bybit: since Sep 27, 2026; Hyperliquid: from May 12, 2023 for its largest perps (settled payments), the rest since Sep 27, 2026; Bitget: since Sep 27, 2026; Gate: since Sep 27, 2026; HTX: since Sep 27, 2026; KuCoin: since Sep 28, 2026; Aster: since Sep 28, 2026.

Can I download funding rate history?

Yes, free. The same series drawn in the charts is available as JSON from the developer API: for example /api/series/funding?base=BTC&venue=binance&range=7y returns daily 8-hour-equivalent BTC funding on Binance back to the start of its stored history. Use venue= for one exchange, leave it out for the OI-weighted average across exchanges, and range= / step= for the window and resolution.

What does 8h normalised mean?

Exchanges settle funding on different clocks: Hyperliquid every hour, most Binance and Bybit perps every 8 hours, some every 4 or 2 hours. Every rate here is converted to what it would be over 8 hours (rate × 8 ÷ settlement interval in hours), so a 0.00125% hourly rate shows as 0.01%, the same as a 0.01% 8-hourly one. The APR is the 8-hour rate × 3 × 365.
