Crypto Liquidation Heatmaps (Estimated)

Estimated liquidation heatmaps and liquidation maps for the coins with the most futures open interest, modelled from the open interest changes this site records on each exchange. Pick a coin for its heatmap over 12 hours to 30 days, or its map of the levels still open now.

Method and model versions

est-1.0+hl-2026-09-27

Exchanges don't publish liquidation prices, so these heatmaps are estimates. Every rise in open interest is booked as a new long and a new short at the period's volume-weighted price, their liquidation prices are spread over the distribution below (measured on real Hyperliquid positions), falls in open interest close positions proportionally, positions decay with a 5-day half-life, and a level is removed once the price trades through it. Each chart is stamped with its model version: est-1.0+hl-2026-09-27 for all leverage, est-1.0+hl-2026-09-27-25x for the ≥25× view.

On Hyperliquid, where positions are on-chain, the Hyperliquid liquidation map uses the real liquidation prices of tracked wallets instead of this model. How well the model predicts real liquidations, including where it doesn't beat a simple baseline: methodology and accuracy scoreboard. Estimates may be materially wrong; not financial advice.

Liquidation heatmap FAQ

What is a liquidation heatmap?

A chart of price against time where the colour shows how much leveraged positions would be liquidated at each price. Bright bands above the price are short liquidation levels, below it long ones. Price often reacts near large clusters, because liquidations are forced market orders.

Are liquidation heatmaps accurate?

Every centralised-exchange liquidation heatmap is an estimate, because Binance, Bybit and the others don't publish their users' liquidation prices. This one is built from recorded open interest changes and a leverage distribution measured on real Hyperliquid positions, and each chart carries its model version. Actual liquidations are usually lower than any model shows. The methodology page scores it daily against real Bybit liquidations and says plainly where it doesn't beat a simple baseline.

What is the difference between the heatmap and the liquidation map?

The heatmap shows how the modelled levels built up and were cleared over time; the map is a snapshot of the levels still open now, as bars by price with running totals. On Hyperliquid, where positions are public, the Hyperliquid liquidation map shows real tracked positions instead of a model.
