Monthly liquidation report FAQ

What does the monthly liquidation report show?

The dollar value of crypto futures positions that exchanges force-closed during one UTC calendar month, split into longs (closed by a falling price) and shorts (closed by a rising price), by coin, by exchange and by day, with the month's largest single liquidations.

When is a report published?

On the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC, for the month that just ended. It is built from the same stored liquidations as the liquidation history and the daily cards; late data can still arrive in the first hours, after which the report does not change.

Can I share or cite the report?

Yes. Each month has a permanent page and a 1200×630 image at the same address plus .png. Please link back to the page when you use the numbers or the image.

Is every liquidation counted?

No site sees every liquidation. These come from the exchanges' public feeds, and some publish only a sample (Binance sends at most one liquidation per symbol per second), so totals are a lower bound. Days the recorder was down are marked in the daily table rather than shown as zero.
