Funding Fee Calculator

Estimate what funding costs (or pays) you for holding a perpetual futures position, using the live funding rate for that coin, venue and side. Pick a coin, an exchange and long or short, enter your position size and how long you'll hold, and see the funding per interval, per day and in total, plus the annualised rate (APR).

At the live rate, a long BTCUSDT position of $10K on Binance would pay about $5 in funding over 7 days.

How to read it. Funding is shown as 8h-equivalent the same way as the rest of this site. A long position pays positive funding and receives negative funding; a short position is the mirror image. Each market uses the funding interval its exchange reports (Binance and Bybit run some perps every 4 or 1 hours instead of 8; Hyperliquid settles hourly). An interval marked assumed hasn't been reported yet and is the venue's usual one (see the FAQ) — check the exchange for the exact schedule before relying on the per-interval or per-day figures. Totals assume the rate stays constant for the whole holding period, which real funding rarely does.

See also funding rates, the funding arbitrage scanner for two-leg trades, and Hyperliquid's native hourly funding.

Funding fee calculator FAQ

How is funding paid calculated?

Each funding interval, a perp exchanges a payment between longs and shorts equal to the funding rate times position size. Positive funding means longs pay shorts; negative means shorts pay longs. This calculator takes the live 8-hour-equivalent rate, converts it to the market's own funding interval, and multiplies by your position size for every interval over your holding period.

Why do Hyperliquid numbers differ from Binance or Bybit at the same 8h rate?

Hyperliquid settles funding every hour; Binance and Bybit settle most perps every 8 hours, and some every 4 or 1 hours. Two markets quoting the same 8h-equivalent rate transfer the same total over a day, just in more, smaller payments on the shorter interval. The per-interval amount below is scaled to each market's interval.

What does "assumed" mean next to the interval?

The interval shown is the one the exchange reports for that market. When it hasn't reported one yet (for example just after a new listing), the calculator assumes the venue's usual interval (8 hours on Binance and Bybit, 1 hour on Hyperliquid) and labels it "assumed"; check the exchange for the exact schedule before relying on the per-interval or per-day numbers.

Is this the same as the funding arbitrage calculator?

No. This tool estimates the cost of a single position on one exchange. For the two-leg trade (long on one exchange, short on another, collecting the funding spread) see the funding arbitrage scanner.
