Deduplicate venue/symbol, then select one eligible contract per coin/venue: USDT before USDC before USD, then symbol. Fresh recorded 24h perp volume is summed only across the selected eligible contracts; stale or missing volume is omitted. At least one fresh volume observation is required to rank. Supported USD quotes are treated as comparable USD notional. Volume ties sort by coin. The majority median uses the mean of the middle two quotes for even counts. The absolute quote gap is measured in percentage points (pp), with ties sorted by coin.
All quotes are normalized to 8 hours, regardless of native settlement interval. Positive quotes mean longs would pay shorts; negative quotes mean shorts would pay longs.
