Bitcoin Wikipedia pageviews FAQ
What does this measure?
Daily human-agent (user) views of the Bitcoin article on English Wikipedia, across all access methods. It excludes identified bots and other languages. Wikimedia history starts July 2015; missing days are gaps, never zero views.
How are views and price aligned?
Weekly totals use complete Monday–Sunday UTC weeks. BTC is the Sunday BTCUSDT close from Binance, available since August 2017. Earlier price values and missing daily returns are shown as unavailable. The latest seven-day total ends on the latest available view date; the median uses complete weeks within the last 52 weeks.
Is attention a price signal?
Attention is not a price signal. News can cause views to rise after a market move. This retrospective comparison does not establish causation or predict returns.
