How XRP traders on Hyperliquid are positioned by account size and by all-time PnL: long and short position value per group, the net bias, smart money vs retail and how it changed hour by hour, from real on-chain positions of tracked wallets.

700 tracked wallets held a XRP position in the account-size snapshot: $132.89M long and $134.24M short (49.7% long by value). Smart money vs retail: the 61 tracked wallets that made $1M or more on Hyperliquid are 48.3% long XRP by value (net -$6.52M), while the 198 accounts under $10K are 90.9% long (net +$1.68M). They disagree: smart money leans short, retail long. Both are samples: only wallets this site tracks and polled in the 6 hours before the snapshot, about 91.5% of XRP open interest on Hyperliquid, and the PnL tiers only include wallets on Hyperliquid's leaderboard.

Each snapshot includes only positions of wallets polled in the 6 hours before that snapshot. Vaults and protocol accounts such as HLP (accounts worth over $1B) are excluded.

What does Hyperliquid XRP positioning by cohort show?

How the Hyperliquid wallets this site tracks are positioned, grouped two ways: by account size (from under $10K to $10M and up) and by all-time profit and loss on Hyperliquid's own leaderboard (from wallets that lost $1M or more to wallets that made $1M or more). For each group: how many wallets hold a position, the long and short position value at the mark price, the net and the share long.

Where does the data come from?

From Hyperliquid itself. Hyperliquid is an on-chain exchange, so every account's positions are public. This site reads the positions of tens of thousands of wallets from Hyperliquid's public API and Hyperliquid's public leaderboard for all-time PnL, and adds them up once an hour.

How complete is it?

It is a large sample, not every account. Only positions of wallets checked in the 6 hours before each snapshot count. The PnL tiers only include wallets that appear on Hyperliquid's leaderboard, so they cover less than the size tiers. Each page shows how many wallets are included and what share of Hyperliquid open interest they hold.

Are vaults included?

No. Accounts worth more than $1.00B are almost certainly vaults (such as HLP) or protocol accounts rather than traders, so their positions are left out of every tier and of the tracked value. Snapshots from before this change was made (late September 2026) still include them.

Is following smart money a good strategy?

Not on its own. The wallets that made the most in the past are not guaranteed to be right next time, and a group's net position mixes hedges, market making and directional bets. Treat it as one input. This is market data, not financial advice.
